Barely five days after controversial singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, was remanded in prison over multiple criminal charges, his first wife, Omobewaji, has given birth to a baby.
Portable was arraigned on Monday, January 12, 2026, before a Federal High Court in Ogun State on a nine-count charge. The presiding judge declined to grant him bail at the hearing, citing the absence of the police officer allegedly assaulted during the incident.
The court subsequently ordered that the singer be remanded in custody, adjourning the consideration of his bail application to January 19, 2026.
While the singer remains in prison, sources confirmed that Omobewaji delivered a healthy baby, adding a bittersweet turn to the unfolding events surrounding the artist.
According to reports, the news of the birth has been communicated to Portable in custody. Sources further claimed that he received the development with excitement and is eager for his next court appearance in the hope of securing bail to meet his child for the first time.
Portable’s legal troubles stem from a dispute involving one of his wives, Ashabi Simple, during which he allegedly assaulted a police officer who intervened in the incident.
As the bail hearing approaches, the singer’s fans and supporters continue to watch closely, with the arrival of his newborn adding a deeply personal dimension to an already dramatic chapter in his life.
