“A Year of Endless Possibilities” — Lagos Public Servants Kick Off 2026 with Inter-Religious Prayer for State Growth

The Lagos State Government officially ushered in the 2026 work year with a powerful show of unity, hosting an inter-religious prayer session for its vast workforce at the Secretariat in Alausa over the weekend.

The “First Work-Day Inter-Religious Prayer,” held at the Adeyemi-Bero Auditorium, brought together Christian, Muslim, and traditional worshippers alongside senior government officials. The symbolic gathering was designed to commit the state’s 2026 agenda into divine hands while fostering a spirit of integrity and diligence among public officers.
Addressing the assembly, the Head of Service, Mr. Bode Agoro, characterized 2026 as a year “full of great expectations and endless possibilities.” He urged the state’s public servants to remain disciplined and purposeful, emphasizing that their collective effort is the engine room of the “Greater Lagos” vision.
“Committing government activities into God’s hands further strengthens our resolve to serve the state with diligence,” Agoro stated.
Reflecting on the milestones of 2025, the Head of Service lauded the dedication of workers who navigated a challenging but high-achieving year. He specifically highlighted Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s’ unprecedented commitment” to staff well-being, citing a series of staff-friendly policies implemented over the past year that have boosted morale across Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).
As the 2026 calendar begins, the state government has reaffirmed that worker welfare and improved service delivery will remain at the forefront of its administrative priorities.
