One man many people won’t stop talking about in the highly lucrative oil and gas industry is Benedict Peters, popularly known as Benny Peters. There has been many allegations flying about Benny Peters and how he runs his oil company, Aiteo group.
Benny Peters is presently running from pillar to posts to cover his track in the Nigeria`s oil industry which is full of sleaze and corruption, with the advent of current administration of President Mohammed Buhari.
Aiteo is believed to be a front for former Minister of Petroleum, Mrs Diezani Allison-Madueke and former President Goodluck Jonathan. But the ex-petroleum Minister has come out recently to deny any involvement with the company, while the former President has kept mute.
A source close to Benny Peters however disclosed to Yemojanewsng.com that the man who is currently being investigated by the Directorate of State Security (DSS) and Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) made his fortune through his closeness to former President Jonathan, when the later was the Vice President under late President Musa Yar’adua.
“Benny Peters was very close to Jonathan when he (Jonathan) was the Vice President. He was always supporting Jonathan, and has if he knew what would happen later. Yar’adua died and Jonathan was to be the President. When the ‘Yaradua Cabal’ moved against Jonathan, Benny Peters was there for him, linking up with people in power and government, and providing money and logistics. So, it is natural that after Jonathan became President, he had to say ‘thank you” to Benny Peters. That was how Aiteo group got most of the lucrative oil contracts in the country.
“The guy was smart and he used his connections with the president to get all he needed in the oil industry. Jonathan actually made him, not Diezani Allison-Madueke.” The source said.
Apart from the Oil Mining Lease (OML) 29 which Benny Peters Aieto acquired from Shell for about $2.6 million dollars, he is also a great beneficiary of Petroleum products exchange also known as Crude Oil Swap where Aiteo is given crude oil by the NNPC in exchange for refined products.
The arrangement of crude oil for refined products with Aiteo is currently being investigated by security agencies and there are suspicions that Benny Peters may have doctors his books to make sure his company come out clean.
But away from his businesses, yemojanewsng.com learnt that Mr. Benny Peters who is a very secretive person cannot manage his home. His love for the opposite sex is said to be legendary as he ‘devours’ anything in skirt. ” From Married women, female celebrities, actress and even some of his workers, Benny Peters has weakness for women, and that is why he can’t live with his wife.”A source disclosed. We learnt that in order to satisfy his lust for women who he dangles many mouth watering carrots, the founder of Aiteo Group sent his wife to be living in the United States of America.
