Prince Ademola Akiolu, the son of the Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu, will contest the House of Representatives primary in Lagos.
Ademola’s name was seen on the list of screened Lagos House of Representatives aspirants at the headquarters of the All Progressives Congress in Ikeja, on Thursday.
Ademola will have to defeat the incumbent, Mrs. Jumoke Okoya; and five others to clinch the ticket on Sunday.
According to party sources, Ademola is expected to clear the primary just like the sons of all APC leaders who participated in House of Assembly elections on Tuesday cleared the polls.
The son of the National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, Jimi, won the Ikeja constituency 1 election while the son of the chairman of the party, Chief Henry Ajomale, Dipo, also won in Isolo.
Although Oba Akiolu is not a card-carrying member of the APC, he is a staunch supporter of the party, having vowed last week that the Peoples Democratic Party would never rule Lagos.
