Nollywood actress Angela Okorie has sparked conversation on social media after advising parents to refrain from kissing their children on the mouth, describing the practice as unhealthy and potentially risky.
Okorie shared her concerns via her Instagram story, warning that mouth-to-mouth contact could expose children to infections. She urged parents to adopt safer expressions of affection, such as kissing children on the cheek.
“Stop kissing your kid’s mouth to mouth! They are kids; they don’t need your infected mouth. Kiss them on the cheek,” the actress wrote.
She also questioned why some people extend the practice to adults, expressing surprise at seeing parents kiss their own parents on the mouth.
“What happened to the cheek?” she asked, adding humorously that the trend left her baffled and wondering if she was simply old-fashioned.
While her comments have drawn mixed reactions online, the actress maintained that her message was rooted in concern for children’s health and hygiene.
