APC Inaugurates National Convention Media and Publicity Subcommittee, Sets Agenda for Strategic Messaging

The All Progressives Congress (APC) on Monday inaugurated its Media and Publicity Subcommittee for the party’s 2026 National Convention, tasking members with delivering strategic messaging and ensuring effective communication nationwide.

Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, who co-chairs the committee alongside Mr. Tunde Rahman, senior assistant to the president on Media and Special Duties, emphasized the critical role of the subcommittee in promoting transparency and projecting the outcomes of the convention both locally and internationally.

Speaking during the inauguration, Idris said:

“This convention is a significant milestone in the life of our great party as we continue to strengthen internal democracy and consolidate our vision for a united, prosperous, and progressive Nigeria. The APC administration under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is implementing bold reforms to reposition our nation for sustainable growth and long-term development.”

He added that the committee’s role goes beyond publicity:

“Your responsibilities include ensuring accurate information dissemination, coordinating media engagements, promoting transparency, and projecting the process and outcomes of the convention to Nigerians and the international community. This assignment is strategic and vital.”

Idris urged members to approach their tasks with professionalism, creativity, and integrity, leveraging all available media platforms to ensure wide and positive coverage of the convention.
The committee’s outlined duties include:

Content Creation
Media Relations
Media Planning and Buying
Liaison with Other Subcommittees
General Report Writing and Documentation (print and digital)
Media Monitoring and Performance Evaluation
Administration and Coordination of all Convention Media Activities
The inauguration marks the start of a coordinated media effort to showcase the APC’s unity and its commitment to advancing the Renewed Hope Agenda as the party prepares for the 2026 National Convention.
