Atlantic Rugby 7s Kicks Off in Lagos with Top Talents Eyeing National Glory

All is now set for the Atlantic Rugby 7s Championship taking place today at Eko Atlantic City in Victoria Island, Lagos, as Nigeria’s top rugby talents converge for a high-energy tournament.

Organised by the Nigeria Rugby Football Federation (NRFF) with backing from the Lagos State Government, the competition will showcase elite male and female players from across the country in the fast-paced Rugby 7s format.

Speaking ahead of the championship, NRFF General Manager, Azeez Ladipo, expressed confidence in the level of competition, describing the event as a key part of ongoing efforts to grow rugby in Nigeria. He assured fans of an entertaining spectacle, noting that participating teams are well-prepared and eager to make their mark.

Ladipo also disclosed that NRFF President, Ademola Are, has charged players to deliver outstanding performances. He added that exceptional talents identified during the tournament could earn opportunities to represent Nigeria on the international stage.

He further praised sponsors of the Atlantic Rugby 7s Championship for their sustained commitment to developing rugby in the country. The tournament is scheduled to kick off at 10 a.m.
