Bauchi Police Arrest Man for Allegedly Raping Eight-Year-Old Daughter

The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested a 28-year-old man for criminal intimidation, assault, and the alleged rape of his eight-year-old biological daughter.

The announcement was made on Thursday by the command’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Nafiu Habib.

Habib explained that the case was reported on December 31, 2025, at the Divisional Police Headquarters in Alkaleri. The complainant stated that the suspect, Baffa’ji Abba, who resides at the same address, lured his daughter into a bathroom on December 30, 2025, at around 6:30 p.m., where he allegedly assaulted her multiple times against her will.

“Upon receipt of the report, a team of detectives led by CSP Kadiri Danjuma, DPO Alkaleri, swiftly visited the scene, moved the victim to General Hospital Alkaleri for immediate medical attention, and arrested the suspect,” Habib stated.

The PPRO added that the suspect reportedly confessed to the crime during interrogation.

He also revealed that the Commissioner of Police, Bauchi State Command, Sani-Omolori Aliyu, has directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) to carry out a discreet and thorough investigation to gather evidence and fully examine the circumstances surrounding the case.

The police assured the public that the welfare of the child remains a top priority and that justice will be diligently pursued.
