Bimbo Ademoye Cries Foul as Copyright Claim Demonetises Hit YouTube Movie

Nollywood actress and filmmaker Bimbo Ademoye has raised the alarm over an alleged copyright infringement that has reportedly led to the demonetisation of her YouTube film, Where Love Lives.
Ademoye accused an individual identified as Emmanuel Davies of falsely claiming ownership of a song used in the movie, despite her insistence that she holds full legal rights to the soundtrack. The actress alleged that the individual went further to upload the song on Spotify and other digital streaming platforms, listing himself as the composer.
Where Love Lives, released in December 2025, has enjoyed massive success on YouTube, amassing over 18 million views before the copyright claim reportedly affected its revenue stream.
Reacting in a series of Instagram posts on Saturday, Ademoye expressed outrage and frustration over the situation, issuing a stern ultimatum and demanding the immediate removal of the copyright claim.
“Emmanuel, you have one hour to lift that copyright from my movie. A song I completely own the rights to, you took it, uploaded it, named yourself the composer and blocked me from making money from my own sweat,” she wrote.
The actress also warned of serious consequences if the issue was not resolved promptly, calling on individuals familiar with the accused or affiliated platforms to intervene.
She revealed that this was not her first encounter with copyright-related disputes, noting that she is already pursuing legal action against another individual over a similar claim.
“Emmanuel Davies, you have one hour. Whoever knows Lagos Sound or Emmanuel Davies should warn him now,” Ademoye added, threatening further action if the matter persists.
As of the time of filing this report, Emmanuel Davies has not publicly responded to the allegations.
