Court Orders Arrest of PDP Factional Chairman Turaki Over Alleged False Petition

A Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court has ordered the arrest of a factional National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Kabiru Turaki, over his failure to appear in court.

Justice U.P. Kekemeke issued the arrest order after Turaki failed to honour a court summons in a case instituted by the Inspector-General of Police (IGP).

The court ruled that Turaki had no valid justification for his absence, prompting the directive for his arrest.

The case stems from a one-count charge filed by the IGP, accusing the PDP chieftain of providing false information to the police in a petition submitted in October 2022.

The development adds another twist to the ongoing leadership crisis within the PDP, as legal battles continue to shape the party’s internal dynamics.
