The arrest was carried out by a specialized team of NCoS officers attached to the Medium Security Custodial Centre, Goron Dutse. Public Relations Officer, CSC Musbahu Kofar-Nassarawa, stated that the suspects were caught red-handed as they attempted to breach the security perimeter during the sensitive period of inmate transportation.

“The NCoS is committed to rehabilitating and reforming inmates, and will not tolerate attempts to undermine this mandate,” Kofar-Nassarawa declared.
A Zero-Tolerance Directive
The Controller of Corrections for the Kano State Command, Ado Inuwa, has since directed the Command’s Legal and Intelligence Units to hand over both the suspects and the confiscated narcotics to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) for immediate investigation and prosecution.

The Command issued a stern warning to the public to desist from intermingling with inmates, particularly during their movements to and from court premises. Authorities emphasized that such actions constitute a serious security breach and are strictly punishable under Nigerian law.
