Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has disclosed that his father, billionaire businessman Dr Adedeji Adeleke, compelled him to undergo a DNA test following a paternity claim involving a 12-year-old girl identified as Anu.
In a post shared on social media, the singer said the decision to submit to DNA testing was driven by his family’s strong stance on lineage and clarity over heritage.
“You guys don’t know my father… he’s even the one that forced me to go… Adelekes, we don’t play about blood on this side,” Davido wrote.
The development comes amid renewed public attention surrounding claims by Anu and her mother, Ayo Labinjoh, who have alleged that the music star is the girl’s biological father and have repeatedly called for a DNA test to establish her identity.
According to The Nation, the claims have reignited online debate, with the family seeking official confirmation of paternity.
Davido, however, has consistently denied the allegation, stating that multiple DNA tests have already been conducted. He maintains that five separate tests, carried out at reputable hospitals, all returned negative results.
The singer’s latest comments appear to be aimed at countering claims that he avoided the process, while also underscoring the role his father played in ensuring the matter was addressed.
As the controversy continues to generate reactions on social media, the issue remains unresolved in the public space, with both parties holding firmly to their positions.
