Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has urged upcoming artistes to remain committed to God even after achieving fame and success.
Speaking during a recent interview with Kiss Xtra, Davido advised aspiring musicians to believe in themselves, work hard on their craft, and avoid allowing fame to distance them from their faith.
The singer noted that the entertainment industry is filled with distractions that can easily cause successful artistes to lose focus on the values that helped them reach the top.
According to him, dedication and continuous self-improvement played a major role in his journey to success.
“My advice for up-and-coming artistes is, first of all, believe in yourself. I worked on my craft so much. I loved music so much that I just wanted to get better every time. When I was young, I was learning from YouTube and the people around me,” Davido said.
He further encouraged young musicians to remain passionate about their careers while keeping God at the centre of their lives.
“Secondly, love what you do and put God first and close, especially when you make it because there are so many distractions that can make you forget He is the reason you are here,” he added.
His remarks come amid reports that some celebrities, particularly Christians, have publicly revealed that they stopped attending church after attaining fame.
