Israel DMW, logistics manager to Nigerian Afrobeats star Davido (David Adeleke), has urged the public to ignore rumours claiming the singer is secretly working for the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
In an Instagram post on Sunday, Israel dismissed the reports as “totally fabricated lies” aimed at generating social media traffic. He insisted that Davido’s earlier position remains unchanged and that the singer is not supporting the APC.
“Dearest Nigerians, kindly disregard the useless rumours going around that Oga has been secretly or is currently working for the APC. All are totally fabricated lies to gain social media traffic. His earlier stance still remains,” he wrote.
Israel further claimed that Davido had turned down several million dollars to endorse any presidential candidate. He said the artist continues to emphasise that he stands with ordinary Nigerians facing hardship and would never betray them.
“Oga has rejected several millions of dollars to endorse any of the presidential candidates. He keeps saying he would be with Nigerians, who are going through a lot, and that he would never betray them at all. What else do Nigerians want again?” Israel added.
The rumours intensified after Davido’s uncle, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, publicly declared support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid, drawing backlash that spilled over onto the singer.
