A mild drama ensued as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial candidates for Anambra Central District, Mrs. Uche Ekwunife and Senator Chris Ngige clashed during Mothers’ Day celebration in an Anglican Church.
The two senatorial candidates separately came to St. Silas Anglican Church, Enekwasumpu to felicitate with the women as part of this year’s Anglican Church Mother’s Day celebration.
Ekwunife had earlier arrived the church alongside her supporters amidst jubilation as members of the church rose in celebration to receive the senatorial candidate of the PDP.
Shortly after her arrival, the APC candidate, Ngige came into the same church amidst jubilation.
The two political candidates showed uncommon character during the church service as both embraced each other warmly to the bewilderment of the congregation who apparently thought there was no love lost between them, especially as they were contesting against each other in the senatorial election.
