FG Approves N480.4 Billion for Southwest Development Commission, Says Otunba Gbenga Daniel

Otunba Gbenga Daniel, Senator representing Ogun East and former Governor of Ogun State, has announced that the Federal Government has approved a staggering N480.4 billion for the Southwest Development Commission (SWDC), a project born from his own legislative pen.
The Commission, which was born from a bill championed personally by Daniel in the hallowed chambers of the National Assembly, is a fulfillment of his long-standing dream to create a dedicated vehicle for transforming the Southwest region.
Daniel’s passionate advocacy for the bill stemmed from his intimate understanding of the region’s untapped potential and developmental challenges, forged during his years as Ogun State’s helmsman.
Speaking to an attentive audience of influential leaders at the Yoruba Leaders of Thought meeting held recently, at Lagos Airport Hotel, Ikeja, Daniel’s voice carried the weight of accomplishment as he shared that President Bola Tinubu is meticulously handpicking the finest Yoruba minds including scholars, innovators, and visionaries both within Nigeria and from across the global diaspora, to steer this ambitious commission.
The Ogun East Senator, whose legislative fingerprints are now indelibly stamped on the Southwest’s developmental roadmap, called on all sons and daughters of the region, alongside progressive-minded Nigerians, to rally behind President Tinubu’s administration and the All-Progressives Congress.
With evident satisfaction, he noted that even international skeptics are beginning to recognize the wisdom in Tinubu’s bold economic vision.
Daniel, whose bill has now transformed from legislative proposal to funded reality, passionately urged his countrymen to reject the cynical narratives promoted by entrenched interests, emphasizing that embracing Tinubu’s leadership represents the clearest path toward a prosperous future for both the South and the nation as a whole.
