Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State has declared his support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubuin 2027, unveiling a new grassroots-driven political structure aimed at securing victory for the ruling party.
Speaking on Saturday at the All Progressives Congress (APC) state congress held at Mahmud Ribadu Square, the governor announced the formation of the “Adamawa Renewed Hope 226 Movement (ARH226M),” which he said would spearhead the campaign effort across the state.
Fintiri, who will serve as the patron of the movement, expressed strong confidence in its ability to mobilise support at all levels, declaring his readiness to lead the charge.
“From this ground, I am going all out, with boots on and sleeves rolled up, to deliver Adamawa State to President Bola Tinubu in 2027,” he said. “I am formally declaring an onslaught to win because winning is in our DNA.”
According to him, the movement’s structure includes the Deputy Governor as chairman, alongside members of the State Executive Council, political appointees, local government chairmen, development area administrators, and 226 ward councillors.
He added that the group would be fully structured from ward to state level and officially inaugurated in the coming week, urging existing support groups to align under the new platform.
Describing it as a fast-moving, grassroots-oriented initiative, the governor said the movement is designed to accommodate a broad base of supporters ahead of the next general elections.
Meanwhile, the APC state congress also ushered in a new leadership in Adamawa. Alhaji Hamza Madagali, a former chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), emerged as the new APC state chairman, while Raymond Chidama was elected deputy chairman.
Comrade Mustapha Ribadu secured the position of state secretary, and Victor Dogo, formerly the PDP publicity secretary, retained the same role under the APC banner, reflecting a notable reshaping of the party’s structure in the state.
