From Suspected Malaria to Coma: Nollywood Star Tayo Odueke Reveals Months-Long Health Battle

Nollywood actress Tayo Odueke, popularly known as Sikiratu Sindodo, has opened up about a terrifying health crisis that left her fighting for her life.

In a recent interview with Oyinmomo TV, the Yoruba film star revealed that what began as ordinary malaria or typhoid symptoms quickly escalated into a life-threatening ordeal. She spent months moving from one hospital to another as her condition deteriorated, eventually slipping into a coma.

“I was sick like someone who had malaria. Malaria/typhoid, that was it, and that was how it started gradually. From one hospital to another. I can’t remember how long it lasted. I think it lasted for months because I was in a coma and was given a 50/50 chance. My mum was even told to go home,” she recalled.

Visibly emotional during the conversation, Sindodo struggled to hold back tears as she reflected on the experience. She credited her survival entirely to faith and the power of prayer.

“God answered a lot of prayers in my life. God has been faithful because I don’t want to be emotional,” she said.

The actress did not disclose the final diagnosis but said the ordeal has deepened her appreciation for life and divine intervention.

A familiar face in Yoruba cinema, Sikiratu Sindodo joins a growing number of Nollywood personalities who have publicly shared their personal health struggles in recent years.
