Nollywood actress Sarah Martins has addressed the controversy surrounding her recent interaction with a dispatch rider who publicly declared romantic interest in her, clarifying that she never accepted his proposal.

In a post shared via Instagram, the actress explained that her response to the rider was purely an act of kindness meant to affirm his self-worth not an agreement to start a relationship.

“Let it be known that I don’t say yes to a dispatch rider. I only extended my hand in love for humanity towards him to remind him that he’s worthy of love regardless of his current status,” she wrote.

Martins stressed that she upholds clear personal standards when it comes to relationships and would not compromise them for anyone.

“I am a principled woman, and I believe in respect, submission, and loyalty, and a man can only earn those qualities when he’s a provider. Please stop spreading wrong narratives. I am single and currently not searching,” she added.

The actress further dismissed claims circulating on social media suggesting she was preparing for marriage, insisting she is neither desperate nor interested in getting married at the moment.

Ndi Facebook shouting, Sarah is finally getting married, bikonu. I’m not desperate for marriage; as a matter of fact, I’m not interested in marriage. Y’all should let me breathe,” she stated.

The clarification comes after the dispatch rider alleged he lost his job following his public expression of feelings for the actress.

In response, Martins shared screenshots of their chats, claiming he was cautioned for what she described as disrespectful behaviour, not dismissed from work.

While wishing him well, she maintained that she is not the right partner for him and urged the public to stop spreading what she called false narratives about the situation.
