“If Only I Had Known”: Bidemi Olaoba’s Heartbreaking Tribute to Late Gospel Singer Toluwanisings

Nigerian gospel artist Bidemi Olaoba has broken his silence for the first time following the sudden death of his colleague, Olayemi Bolaji, popularly known as Toluwanisings.

Toluwanisings’ last public appearance took place at Olaoba’s worship service in Ibadan, Oyo State. Just one day later, the singer collapsed at his home and later died. Reports circulating online claimed he was turned away by several hospitals before his passing.

In a moving Facebook post shared on Sunday, Olaoba described the loss as leaving “an immeasurable void.” Reflecting on their final moments together, he wrote: “If only I had known that your last ministration would be your final one before you joined the saints in glory, I would have held you a little longer, embraced you a little tighter, and given you the entire night to praise your God and pour out your heart before Him, just as you loved to do.”

While acknowledging that Toluwanisings’ time on earth has ended, Olaoba stressed that his ministry continues to live on.
