“It Was Just Content” — Olajumoke Onibread Fires Back at Substance Abuse Claims

Olajumoke Orisaguna, the former bread seller who rose to fame as “Olajumoke Onibread,” has firmly denied allegations of substance abuse following a viral TikTok video that stirred concern among fans.

The model clarified that the clip, which showed her delivering a freestyle performance, was created strictly for entertainment and should not be misinterpreted.

Taking to Instagram, Olajumoke expressed frustration over the backlash, particularly comments suggesting she had taken up smoking and drinking. She described the assumptions as unfair and rooted in misunderstanding.

“I’m not happy about the comments I saw on my video. Some people were saying that I now smoke and drink alcohol. Why would anyone think that about me? It was just content,” she said.

Reiterating her stance, she stressed that she does not engage in substance use and attributed her values to her upbringing.

“I don’t smoke or drink — I wasn’t raised that way. Please, I’m begging you all, don’t give me a reputation that isn’t mine,” she added, noting that she often declines alcohol even at social gatherings.

Olajumoke urged her followers to disregard the rumours, emphasising that the video was simply an attempt to create engaging content. She also clarified that the song featured in the clip was not originally hers.

Olajumoke first captured national attention in 2016 after she was discovered by renowned photographer TY Bello while hawking bread on the streets of Lagos. Since then, she has navigated a challenging journey in the spotlight.

Now a radio presenter, she hosts the talk show Kilon Shele, where she opens up about her life experiences, including past struggles with exploitative management and domestic abuse, as she continues to rebuild her public image.
