Kane Hits 50 UCL Goals, Joins Messi in Elite Fastest Scorers List

England striker Harry Kane has reached a major milestone in the UEFA Champions League after scoring twice for Bayern Munich against Atalanta BC to take his tally to 50 goals.

Kane achieved the feat in just 66 appearances, equalling the record set by Lionel Messi and placing him joint-third among the fastest players to reach the landmark.

Despite holding a comfortable 6–1 aggregate lead from the first leg, Bayern manager Vincent Kompany fielded a strong lineup to secure a dominant result, with Kane once again leading the attack.

The achievement underscores Kane’s seamless transition since joining Bayern from Tottenham Hotspur FC, with the striker netting 11 goals in 13 Champions League matches in the 2024/25 campaign.

According to Planet Football, Kane now joins an elite group of players who reached 50 Champions League goals in the fewest matches:
• Erling Haaland – 49 games
• Ruud van Nistelrooy – 62 games
• Lionel Messi – 66 games
• Harry Kane – 66 games
• Robert Lewandowski – 77 games
• Kylian Mbappé – 79 games
• Karim Benzema – 88 games
• Cristiano Ronaldo – 91 games
• Raúl – 97 games
• Mohamed Salah – 97 games

Haaland remains the fastest player to the milestone, reaching 50 goals in just 49 matches, while Ronaldo holds the all-time Champions League scoring record with 140 goals.

Kane’s latest achievement further cements his place among Europe’s most prolific strikers and strengthens his case as one of the leading forwards of his generation.
