Kunle Afod Mourns Late Actress Aunty Ajara, Announces 8-Day Fidau Prayer

Actor Kunle Afod has continued to mourn the death of his colleague, Yoruba actress Aunty Ajara, who passed away on February 5, 2026, after a prolonged illness.

Aunty Ajara, whose real name was Lasisi Ajarat Morenikeji, died at the age of 27 and was buried in accordance with Islamic rites.

Expressing his grief, Afod described her death as difficult to comprehend, noting that her memory would live on in the hearts of those who knew her.

“It still feels unreal. Our beloved Ajara is gone, but she will live on in our hearts forever,” the actor wrote.

With total submission to the will of Almighty Allah, Afod announced the forthcoming 8-day fidau prayer for the late actress.

“With total submission to the will of Almighty Allah, we announce the 8 Days Fidau Prayer of our beloved sister, Lasisi Ajarat Morenikeji, who returned to her Creator on February 5, 2026,” he stated.

He called on friends, colleagues and fans to join the family in prayers for the peaceful repose of her soul.

“Kindly join us in prayers as we gather to pray for the peaceful repose of her soul. May Allah forgive her shortcomings and grant her Aljanah Firdaus. Ameen,” Afod added.

The 8-day fidau prayer has been scheduled for February 12, 2026, with details shared via a flyer circulated by the family.

“Thank you all for your love and support,” Afod said.

Aunty Ajara was a prominent Yoruba actress known for her roles in several indigenous films, where she endeared herself to audiences with her talent and on-screen presence.
