Members of the Lagos State House of Assembly on Thursday confirmed several nominees submitted by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for appointment into strategic state agencies.
The confirmation followed a screening exercise conducted during plenary, which was presided over by the Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. (Dr.) Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa. The nominees appeared individually before the 40-member legislature for questioning and assessment.
During the exercise, lawmakers engaged the nominees on their professional backgrounds, vision, and anticipated contributions to their respective agencies if confirmed.
The nominees expressed confidence and outlined innovative ideas and broad initiatives aimed at strengthening service delivery and improving governance across the state.
Those confirmed include Mr. Kehinde Durosinmi-Etti as Chairman of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund; Engr. Olopade Adekunle as Executive Member of the Lagos State Electricity Regulatory Commission; and Barrister Mrs. Temitope George as Chief Executive Officer of the Lagos State Electricity Commission.
Others are Mr. Alexander Akinwunmi as Chairman of the Lagos State Electricity Regulatory Commission; Mr. Falola Olakunle as Executive Member of the commission; and Mr. Bello Wasiu Oladimeji as Non-Executive Member of the Lagos State Electricity Regulatory Commission.
However, the House stepped down the confirmation of Mrs. Adebisi Adelabu for further consideration after deliberations.
The Assembly’s action underscores its commitment to thorough legislative oversight and effective governance in Lagos State.
