Social media activist, VeryDarkMan, has accused President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of attempting to influence the outcome of the ongoing Osun State governorship election.
VeryDarkMan made the allegation in a video shared on Instagram while reacting to the presence of several All Progressives Congress (APC) governors and senators in the state to observe the election.
The activist claimed that the deployment of APC leaders from different parts of the country could undermine the credibility of the poll, alleging that they were in Osun to intimidate voters and manipulate the results.
He called on President Tinubu to allow the people of Osun State to freely choose their preferred candidate through a credible and transparent election.
“Sending your APC governors and senators to OSUN shows the election won’t be credible and fair,” VeryDarkMan said.
Addressing Tinubu directly, he alleged that the political structure surrounding the election could lead to bullying and oppression, warning that the situation could have wider consequences.
“Tell me why you have APC governors going to observe the Osun election if not to go and bully, oppress and manipulate the election results?” he asked.
VeryDarkMan also referred to the controversies surrounding the election and suggested that the outcome could favour the incumbent governor, Ademola Adeleke, while stressing that his comments should not be interpreted as an endorsement of Adeleke.
He argued that Adeleke should not need excessive campaigning if his administration had performed well, citing Abia State Governor Alex Otti as an example.
The activist ultimately urged Tinubu to ensure that the people of Osun State are allowed to determine the outcome of the election through a free and fair process.
