The word democracy derived from the Greek words “demos” (people) and “kratos” (power), it can be understood as “power of the people”—a form of government that is based on popular will. “The globe needs to be made democratically secure.
Its peace must be established on the tried-and-true pillars of political freedom. We have no self-serving goals to pursue. We desire no conquest, no dominion.
We don’t want any financial recompense or indemnities for the sacrifices we will voluntarily make. Democracy is the defender of human rights. When those rights are guaranteed as much as national independence and faith, we will be content.
“We feel confident, conduct our operations as belligerents without passion, and ourselves observe with proud punctilio the principles of right and fair play.” “We claim to be a true democratic, fighting for peace, protection of all and sundry, and the growth and development of our nation, Nigeria,” said Woodrow Wilson.
“This is because we advocate for our people’s rights without resentment and without selfish materials, seeking nothing for ourselves but what we shall wish to share with all our free peoples.”
It will be easier for us to act as belligerents in a spirit of justice and fairness because we act without malice, not with the intention of harming or disadvantageously affecting a people, but only in opposition to a reckless government that has abandoned all human and moral considerations and is rife with corruption, greed, and self-centeredness, drowning our beloved country’s economic standard.
We NYLM respect the degree of patriotism displayed by Mallam El-Rufai’s practical gestures, regardless of religion or ethnicity.
In this regard, the general assembly of NYLM will be joining the coalition with all our state chapters for the dynamic movement of a better Nigeria.
Gentlemen of the Congress, we anticipate months of crucible testing and sacrifice as we join the movement for a better Nigeria that we deserve.
It may come with painful and oppressive task but it is our decision, Yes it is our decision to see Nigeria of our dreams, where citizens will not be willing to leave and become servants in other countries.
Yes, Nigeria of our dreams where talent and hard work counts. Yes, Nigeria of our dreams where terrorism and banditry will be alien.
We will advocate for the things that we have always held closest to our hearts: democracy, the right of those who submit to authority to have a voice in their own governments, and the rights and liberties of Nigerian villages, small towns, and cities.
It is also interesting to lead our great and peaceful people to a path of growth and development.
With the pride of those who understand that the time has come for Nigeria to rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed.
With God’s help, Nigeria will come-up again. We ardently pray and hope that this powerful scourge of hardship, instability, and infrastructure disintegration, among other things, will quickly go.
Thank you, God bless
