Omowunmi Aloba, the widow of late Nigerian singer Mohbad, has penned an emotional tribute to their son, Liam, on his birthday, reaffirming her unwavering love and dedication to his well-being.
In a heartfelt message shared on Instagram, Omowunmi described her son as her “heartbeat,” expressing pride in being his mother and pledging to go to any length to ensure his safety and happiness.
“I’d walk through fire, cross oceans and do absolutely anything to make sure you are safe and happy,” she wrote, adding that she would always remain his “biggest cheerleader” and “safest harbour.”
The touching celebration comes amid an ongoing paternity dispute involving Mohbad’s father, Joseph Aloba, who has called for a DNA test to confirm the biological father of Liam.
In a recent development, a Lagos State Magistrate Court sitting in Ikorodu, presided over by Magistrate Adefisoye Sonuga, ordered that a DNA test be conducted to determine the child’s paternity. The order followed a formal application filed by Joseph Aloba.
The situation adds another layer to the lingering controversies surrounding the death of Mohbad, who passed away in September 2023, leaving behind both a musical legacy and unresolved family tensions.
