Rotimi Salami has opened up about the role honesty plays in his marriage, revealing that he would have distanced himself from his close friendship with late actress and filmmaker Allwell Ademola if his wife had ever expressed discomfort.
Speaking in a recent interview, the Nollywood actor stressed that transparency with his spouse remains a non-negotiable principle in his personal life. According to him, his wife is the only person he feels accountable to when it comes to his relationships with others.
“My wife is the only person I’m answerable to. If she had complained about my close friendship with Allwell, I would have stepped back from the friendship,” Salami said.
The actor noted that although he shared a cordial professional and personal relationship with the late filmmaker, his family has always remained his top priority.
Salami also clarified that their friendship never interfered with his home life.
“Allwell didn’t live with me at home. Whenever I went to work, I always returned home. When God wants to support what you do, He aligns things in your favour,” he added.
Emphasising the importance of openness in his marriage, the actor revealed that he regularly informs his wife about his interactions with other women.
According to him, honesty and communication are essential to maintaining trust and stability in their relationship.
