It was drama on Tuesday, August 8, 2023, at the Ogun state governorship election petition tribunal when a witness of the All Progressives Congress, Apostle Sanyaolu was called to testify against the People’s Democratic Party over the election that brought Abidoun into office.
We gathered authoritatively that Apostle Sanyaolu is a debtor to the petitioner, Ladi Adebutu was called to the witness box for cross-examination by the lawyers of PDP.
Gordy Uche SAN, the petitioners’ lawyer accused Sanyaolu that all his evidence against his client was on vendetta because Adebutu loan him a sum of 10 million naira and he gave a bounced cheque in return.
Initially, Sanyaolu denied the allegation but he was later shocked when he showed transaction evidence between himself and the petitioner.
However, Sanyaolu debunked the allegation of vote buying during the governorship election by Adebutu.
He revealed that “he approached the bank in February 2023 and stated the intention of the Adebutu Family to make an endowment card of 200,000 pieces for the less privilege and we had conducted due diligence on it that the card is meant for that purpose it was requested for.”
Apostle Sanyaolu was the Deputy Director General, Administration of the All Progressive Congress Campaign Council in Ogun State.
