The Ogun State Police Command has launched an investigation into allegations of sexual assault involving TikTok content creator Mirabel, who is currently receiving treatment in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
The police confirmed on Thursday that Mirabel voluntarily visited the Ibafo Police Division on Tuesday, February 17, to file a formal complaint. She was subsequently admitted to the hospital due to her unstable condition.
Speaking on The Morning Brief, the command’s Public Relations Officer, Oluseyi Babaseyi, said: “When the DPO in Ibafo met with her, she was taken to the hospital for medical analysis. Her medical well-being is our priority. Once she stabilizes, the investigation will continue to establish the facts.”
The incident is reported to have occurred in Ogijo, a community bordering Ogun and Lagos states. Police emphasized that Mirabel has not been arrested and is being treated solely as a victim.
“We urge anyone with relevant information to come forward and assist with the investigation,” Babaseyi added. “If the allegation is confirmed, the perpetrator will be arrested and charged accordingly. Conversely, providing false information is also punishable under the law.”
The police stressed that the investigation will be guided by evidence, cautioning the public against jumping to conclusions. “We will rely on evidence to reach a logical conclusion,” Babaseyi said.
