Nigerian screen legend Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, popularly known as Omosexy, has taken her debut feature film, Mother’s Love, to the global stage with a screening at the 34th edition of the Pan African Film Festival (PAFF) in Los Angeles.

The milestone marks a defining moment in the actress’ illustrious three-decade career in Nollywood, as the project represents her first outing as a feature film producer.

“Thirty years in the industry and this is my first movie and it’s a gift to families,” Omotola said, reflecting on the emotional journey behind the production.

In recent months, Mother’s Love has enjoyed an impressive international festival circuit, with premieres at the Dubai International Film Festival, the Silicon Valley African Film Festival (SVAFF), the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), and the Africa International Film Festival (AFRIFF).

The Los Angeles screening attracted notable personalities, including Haitian actor and humanitarian Jimmy Jean-Louis, alongside members of the African diaspora and key industry stakeholders.

Mother’s Love explores themes of family, sacrifice and the emotional cost of love when power and fear intersect. The film positions Omotola not just in front of the camera but firmly behind it, steering a narrative she describes as deeply personal and universally resonant.

The Lagos premiere is slated for March 1, with a nationwide theatrical release scheduled for March 6, 2026.

With its strong festival reception and global rollout, Mother’s Love signals a new chapter for Omotola — one that underscores her evolution from celebrated actress to powerhouse producer on the international stage.
