Ondo 2026: APP Rallies Support for Fasoranti, Cites Experience as Key to Senate Bid

The Akure Progressives Platform (APP) has thrown its weight behind Dr Taiwo Fasoranti, the immediate past Secretary to the Ondo State Government, ahead of the forthcoming senatorial election in Ondo Central, urging residents to back what it described as a credible and experienced candidate.

In a statement jointly signed by its Chairman, Chief Akindele Olawole, and Secretary, Alhaja Abibat Edunjobi, on Saturday, the group said its endorsement followed a thorough assessment of the current political climate and the pressing need for effective representation.

APP described Fasoranti as a seasoned administrator with a strong background in both governance and medicine, noting that his combined experience positions him to tackle the developmental challenges facing the Ondo Central Senatorial District.

The group stressed that the upcoming election requires a candidate with proven competence, vision, and dedication to public service, adding that Fasoranti’s track record makes him a suitable choice.

“This is a critical moment for our constituency. Stakeholders must rally around a candidate with the experience and a deep understanding of the people’s needs,” the statement read.

Calling for unity across the district, APP urged residents of Akure South, Akure North, Ondo West, Ondo East, Idanre, and Ifedore local government areas to mobilise support for Fasoranti to secure victory at the polls.

The platform also highlighted the importance of active civic engagement, encouraging community leaders, youths, and other stakeholders to participate in the democratic process by supporting candidates with integrity and a clear agenda for development.

According to the group, the senatorial contest presents a defining opportunity for voters to shape the future of the district through informed decision-making.

APP expressed confidence that Fasoranti’s widespread acceptance and goodwill among the electorate would translate into electoral success, maintaining that his experience in public office has prepared him for the responsibilities of the Senate.

The group concluded that unity and coordinated grassroots efforts would be crucial in delivering victory in the forthcoming election.
