Ooni of Ife fingered in illegal Land Grab in Ikoyi

The Ooni of Ife HIS IMPERIAL MAJESTY OONI ADEYEYE ENITAN BABATUNDE OGUNWUSI, OJAJA II has been fingered in an illegal land grab in Ikoyi, Lagos. The land adjacent to 6, Ondo street, off Niger street is owned by Argyll & Kingston Limited since 1994, according to documents sent to SocietyGists.

Information available to this media house revealed that one fellow, a trespassers recently suddenly commenced erecting structures on the land.

Upon further investigation by Chairman of Argyil & Kingston Limited, Bashorun J.K. Randle, the trespasser claimed he bought the property from the Onikoyi of Lagos (Chief Fagbemi Onikoyi).

Bashorun J.k Randle went to court and got a favorable judgment Suit No: ID/1172/1993 at the High Court of Lagos state where Hon. Justice M.O. Obadina (Mrs.) ruled against the claim of the Onikoyi family to the land in dispute.

SocietyGists gathered that despite the court order the trespasser has continued building frantically on the land and has placed a signboard with the inscription:

“THIS PROPERTY BELONGS TO THE OONI OF IFE

HIS IMPERIAL MAJESTY OONI ADEYEYE ENITAN BABATUNDE OGUNWUSI, OJAJA II

“This is fantastically outrageous – a throw back to Nigeria’s darkest days of egregious trauma and unbridled impunity, said Bashorun J.K Randle.
