Osas Ighodaro, Rajniesh Duggall Star in Cross-Cultural Drama ‘Imported Bahu’

Nigerian-American actress and television host, Osas Ighodaro, has been cast in the lead role of the upcoming Nolly-Bollywood micro-drama series, Imported Bahu.

The highly anticipated production was officially unveiled on Monday by executive producer Hamisha Daryani Ahuja. The series pairs Ighodaro with Bollywood actor and model Rajniesh Duggall in a story that explores love, family tensions, hidden secrets, and a cross-cultural relationship.

Sharing the announcement on Instagram, Ahuja described Imported Bahu as the first vertical micro-drama series produced by Forever 7 Entertainment.

“For months, we’ve been keeping a secret. Today, we’re finally sharing it. Introducing Imported Bahu — Forever 7 Entertainment’s first vertical micro-drama series. A story of love, family, secrets, and one Imported Bahu who turns everything upside down,” she wrote.

According to the trailer, the series follows Bahu Mehra, the son of a wealthy Indian family who returns home after living abroad. While his relatives anticipate luxury gifts from overseas, they are stunned when he introduces them to Zara Ogun, a Nigerian businesswoman portrayed by Ighodaro.

Zara Ogun, the confident and successful CEO of Oguns Fashion, faces resistance and struggles to gain acceptance from her partner’s traditional family, setting the stage for emotional and cultural clashes.

The producers revealed that Imported Bahu will premiere on July 2, 2026, exclusively on LebaraPlay, which is described as Africa’s first telecom-owned micro-drama platform.

Ahuja, known for promoting collaborations between Nollywood and Bollywood through productions such as Namaste Wahala and Postcards, said the new series continues efforts to connect African and Indian storytelling traditions.

For Ighodaro, the role represents another significant achievement in an already successful career. The actress, who has built a reputation through acclaimed film performances, television hosting, and her former beauty queen status, continues to expand her influence on the global entertainment stage.

With the trailer already generating excitement online, Imported Bahu is expected to attract fans of both Nollywood and Bollywood ahead of its July premiere.
