The publisher of popular online newspaper, PointBlankNews and an employee of the Public affairs office of the presidency, Jackson Udeh has been sacked over numerous attempts to blackmail several serving Federal Ministers, according to reports from SG.
In order to escape the arms of the law, the sacked publisher has reportedly fled the country to New York where he resided before he was employed by the Public affairs office of the presidency over a year ago .
According to confirmed information, Udeh was employed to assist the Public affairs office in strengthening the president’s image against the barrage of opposition media.
Upon employment, Udeh was said to have been handed a healthy bank draft by the public affair’s office – of which he used to purchase a 2014 Passat sports car and a new social life.
Jackson Udeh’s alleged voracious spending habits quickly caught up to his income.
The first signs came when Udeh and his immediate boss began having exchanges of harsh words over unaccounted finances and missing monies.
According to a source close to Jackson, he had accused Dr. Doyin Okupe of having withheld monies that was meant for him. He claimed that Okupe was using his online newspaper to collect monies from highly placed officials in the presidency and within the ranks of Peoples Democratic Party [PDP].
On the part of Okupe, he accused Jackson of using his office to raise monies from similar officials.
The straw that broke the Carmel’s back came through Jackson’s actions on his online publication. In his attempts to hit up on some Ministers for badly needed cash, he resorted to daring blackmail publications against the Finance Minister, Prof. Okonjo Iweala, FCT Minister, Bala Mohammed, former PDP national chairman, Bamanga Tukur and others. According to sources, the publications were made in attempts to shake up the ministers for money – but the minister’s refusal to yield to the blackmail threats by Jackson resulted in the publication.
The libelous publication quickly got Jackson in court facing libelous charges brought about by the Finance Minister, Okonjo Iweala for the amount of N1billion. His publication against the FCT minister also got him facing a possible arrest by the police who had sent signals to Jackson to show at the police station to make statements towards aiding an investigation into pointblanknews.com publication on the supposed money embezzlement by persons close to the FCT minister.
When Jackson failed to show up at the police station for the statement, the police issued a warrant for his arrest. As the news broke to Jackson of his possible arrest, he fled the country. According to available records, Jackson fled the country on Thursday June 5, 2014. He arrived Bronx, New York on Friday June 6, 2014. He is believed to have resumed his Nursing job at Bronx-Lebanon Hospital in the north section of the Bronx.
