Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has assured Nigerians that President Bola Tinubu’s administration will deliver greater prosperity if he secures a second term in the 2027 presidential election.
She made the pledge on Saturday in Lafia, Nasarawa State, while addressing the grand rally of the North-Central Grassroots Mobilisation Network, organised to drum up support for the re-election of Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima.
According to a statement by her Senior Special Assistant on Media, Busola Kukoyi, the First Lady linked her message to the President’s Independence Day address on October 1, titled “From Reforms to Prosperity.”
She said the administration had completed the phase of tough economic reforms and was now focused on translating those measures into tangible improvements in living conditions for citizens.
Oluremi Tinubu pointed to signs of recovery, including a stabilising foreign exchange market and the reported return of investors to the country. She also commended state governors for stepping up infrastructure development and supporting agricultural activities across their states.
Highlighting social interventions, she referenced the recent food bank programme targeted at malnourished children, pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers, aimed at providing nutritious food and treatment.
“The Independence Day message of Mr President was titled ‘From Reforms to Prosperity.’ Therefore, Mr President is saying that they are going to reform the sector, but now is the time for prosperity, and we can see our economy is stabilising. Foreign exchange is going down, and investors are coming back to Nigeria,” the statement quoted her as saying.
She described President Tinubu as a bold leader willing to take difficult decisions and urged Nigerians to support continuity.
“He is a leader who can be trusted to lead us into prosperity. Build a stronger economy, safer communities and a greater Nigeria. Therefore, vote for continuity, vote for capacity, vote for prosperity, vote for the re-election of Mr President and all the candidates of the APC from top to bottom,” she added.
The rally forms part of early grassroots mobilisation efforts by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general elections.
