Sanwo-Olu Inaugurates Renewed Hope Coordinators in Lagos, Gifts 20 Vehicles to Boost Grassroots Mobilisation
Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has inaugurated Local Government Renewed Hope Coordinators across the state, marking a significant step in efforts to strengthen grassroots engagement and promote awareness of Federal Government programmes.

The inauguration ceremony, held at the 10 Degrees Events Centre in Oregun, Ikeja, saw coordinators drawn from the 20 Local Government Areas (LGAs) formally sworn in.

Describing the Renewed Hope Ambassadors initiative as an “activation platform,” Sanwo-Olu said the movement was designed to deepen public understanding of government reforms and foster citizen participation in national development.

“This is not a campaign rally,” the governor declared. “This is an activation of what we believe in and a commitment to informing citizens about government programmes and promises being fulfilled.”

Bridging the Gap Between Government and the Grassroots
Sanwo-Olu emphasised that the coordinators would play a critical role in taking awareness campaigns to communities, wards and polling units across the state. According to him, the initiative is structured to bridge the communication gap between government policies and ordinary citizens.

He highlighted what he described as key achievements of the Federal Government, including infrastructure development, economic stabilisation, increased foreign direct investment, currency reforms and the implementation of a new minimum wage for workers.

The governor urged the newly inaugurated coordinators to intensify sensitisation efforts and ensure that information about national programmes reaches markets, campuses and neighbourhoods.

Vehicles for Mobilisation
In a move to support their operations, Sanwo-Olu announced that each of the 20 local government coordinators would receive a brand-new vehicle to enhance mobility and effectiveness at the grassroots level.

‘A Strategic National Movement’
In his welcome address, Renewed Hope Ambassador Tayo Ayinde described the inauguration as part of a broader national strategy aimed at strengthening public confidence and civic engagement.

He explained that the initiative operates within a coordinated national framework led by its Director-General, Governor Hope Uzodimma, with structures extending from the national level to local communities.

Ayinde charged the coordinators to serve as a vital link between government and the people, ensuring that citizens remain informed about national achievements and policy directions.

Dignitaries in Attendance
The event attracted top political figures, including Lagos State Deputy Governor Dr. Obafemi Hamzat; Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa; members of the National Assembly; Lagos APC Chairman Cornelius Ojelabi; Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Lawal Pedro; council chairmen; party executives; traditional rulers; and other stakeholders from across the Southwest.

The Renewed Hope Ambassadors initiative is expected to expand beyond the 20 LGAs to cover all 57 local governments and Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) in Lagos State.
