SDP Declares Adewole Adebayo True Third Force, Dismisses Tinubu, Atiku and Obi as Inadequate

The Presidential Campaign Council of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) has asserted that President Bola Tinubu is aware he would suffer a heavy defeat in a free, fair and credible election in 2027.

Speaking at a press conference in Abuja on Saturday, the council’s Chief Communications Adviser, Comrade Mark Adebayo, declared the SDP presidential candidate, Adewole Adebayo, the best presidential material currently available to Nigerians.

Mark Adebayo criticised President Tinubu, African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate Atiku Abubakar, and Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate Peter Obi, arguing that none of them possesses the capacity to take the country to the next level. He maintained that there was no basis for comparison between Tinubu and Adewole Adebayo, accusing the All Progressives Congress (APC) administration of deepening poverty, hunger and insecurity.

He urged Nigerians to vote and protect their votes, stating: “President Tinubu knows, and all Nigerians know, that in a free, fair and credible election, he will lose in a landslide in 2027.”

According to the SDP spokesman, Adewole Adebayo is more prepared, intellectually ready and has assembled a comprehensive blueprint capable of solving Nigeria’s challenges. He described the SDP candidate as a self-made leader with clean hands who, unlike many politicians, does not view public office as a means of personal enrichment. Mark Adebayo emphasised Adebayo’s humility despite his strong intellectual credentials and commitment to the nation.

Positioning the SDP candidate as a superior alternative, he said: “He is definitely a clear alternative to the ‘Siamese Twins’. The major political factions in Nigeria have proven to be two sides of the same coin, leaving the country politically lifeless. Prince Adebayo and the SDP represent the true third force that millions of Nigerians have been crying out for.

“Forty years is not enough time for corrupt leaders to stop milking a country dry, but four years is more than enough for a focused leader to rescue his people.”

Comparing Adewole Adebayo with Atiku Abubakar, Mark Adebayo claimed the SDP candidate “stands taller with track records of personal integrity and professional excellence.” He noted that the former vice-president’s integrity had been repeatedly questioned by the president with whom he once served, adding that Nigeria could not afford such concerns alongside the current administration.

On Peter Obi, he argued that Adebayo offers a fundamentally superior approach to governance. “Leadership requires moving beyond populist rhetoric but looking at empirical possibilities. By examining their economic ideologies, approaches to Labour, production models, and structural consistency, we can see that why Adebayo presents a more robust blueprint for Nigeria. Unlike Obi, Adebayo does not play to the gallery of ethnoreligious antipathies,” he said.

The remarks form part of the SDP’s early efforts to position Adewole Adebayo as a credible alternative ahead of the 2027 general elections.
