The family of late Nollywood actress, Temitope Osoba, has revealed details of her final hours, claiming that the actress repeatedly expressed fears that she would die on the same day she eventually passed away.
Osoba’s maternal aunt, Pejuola Ogunesan, made the disclosure during an interview with actor Kunle Afod and another family member, Dupe, on Sunday.
Ogunesan said Osoba contacted her on the day of her death despite the strained relationship between the actress and some members of her family.
According to her, Osoba told her that she believed she would die that day and linked her fears to statements allegedly made by her fiancé, Prophet Itunu Onadeko.
Ogunesan explained that her relationship with Osoba became strained after the actress left Evercare Hospital in Lekki in 2023 while receiving treatment for breast cancer.
She alleged that Osoba left the hospital with Onadeko and actress Foluke Daramola after becoming upset with some family members who had taken her phone away while she was preparing for surgery.
The aunt said the incident reportedly led Osoba to block several relatives, resulting in a prolonged breakdown in communication.
However, Ogunesan said the actress later contacted her again and expressed concerns about her safety and wellbeing.
She said she and another relative subsequently went to the police station where Osoba was staying. According to her, the actress recognised them and introduced them to the Divisional Police Officer as her aunties.
Ogunesan further claimed that Osoba had been experiencing disturbing dreams and complained of difficulty sleeping. She reportedly told relatives that she was seeing frightening figures in her dreams and was advised to seek spiritual assistance.
The aunt also alleged that Osoba made several complaints about her relationship with Onadeko, including claims that she was being mistreated and that he was involved with other women.
Ogunesan said Osoba repeatedly spoke about dying that day and allegedly claimed that her fiancé had told her that her obituary would be published that same day.
She recalled that the actress said: “The guy said I would die today.”
According to Ogunesan, Osoba’s condition suddenly deteriorated while they were taking her for medical attention.
She said the actress defecated in the vehicle and her head suddenly dropped before they could reach the emergency unit at the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
The circumstances surrounding Osoba’s death have continued to generate questions, with her family’s account adding new details about the actress’ final interactions and concerns before her death.
