The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Ondo State Command, has unveiled its 2025 performance scorecard, revealing a significant drop in crime rates and a strategic shift toward intelligence-led operations for the 2026 work year.

During a media parley in Akure on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, State Commandant Mr. Oluyemi Ibiloye disclosed that the command handled 2,550 cases between January and December 2025. This represents a decline from the 2,900 cases recorded in 2024, a success Ibiloye attributed to heightened public awareness and inter-agency collaboration.

The cases spanned a wide spectrum of criminal activity, including:
- Critical Assets: 39 cases of vandalism involving transformers and government infrastructure.
- Counter-Terrorism & Cybercrime: 410 cases including online fraud, cultism, and threats to life, resulting in 164 arrests.
- Investigations: 498 cases handled with 551 suspects apprehended; 31 cases remain active in court.
- Gender & Trafficking: 101 cases managed by the Anti-Human Trafficking and Gender Unit.
The Power of ADR: 345 Disputes Resolved
A major highlight of the year was the success of the command’s Grievance Management Centres. Expanded from 25 to 45 locations across Ondo State, these centers resolved 345 cases through Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), significantly reducing the burden on the formal court system.

- Elite Training: 95 personnel have completed intensive training in weapon handling, combat craft, and tactical maneuvering.
- Safe School Initiative: The command’s all-female arms-bearing squad has conducted vulnerability assessments on all 1,601 schools in the state to prevent abductions and ensure a secure learning environment.
