Tinubu’s Choice Praised as Anambra Speaker Backs Bianca Ojukwu’s Rise to Foreign Affairs Minister

The Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly, Somtochukwu Udeze, has lauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for appointing Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu as Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, describing the move as both strategic and заслуженно earned.

Odumegwu-Ojukwu, who previously served as Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, was elevated to the top diplomatic role on Wednesday. She is also widely known as the widow of the late nationalist figure, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu.

In a goodwill message issued Thursday in Awka through his Chief Press Secretary, Emma Madu, Udeze praised the President’s decision as visionary, expressing confidence in the new minister’s capacity to excel.

He highlighted her extensive background in political and public service, noting that her skills and experience position her to effectively manage Nigeria’s foreign policy with dedication and professionalism.

Udeze also recalled her tenure as Nigeria’s Ambassador to Spain, emphasizing that her performance significantly boosted the country’s international image.

Describing the appointment as “putting a round peg in a round hole,” the Speaker said the decision reflects a deliberate effort to strengthen Nigeria’s global partnerships through capable leadership.

He further noted that Odumegwu-Ojukwu has consistently brought pride to Anambra State and the All Progressives Grand Alliance administration led by Governor Chukwuma Soludo through her commitment to national service.

Udeze called on Nigerians to rally behind the new Foreign Affairs Minister, stressing that broad support would be crucial to her success in advancing the nation’s diplomatic interests.
