Nigerian rapper and singer, Omoniyi Temidayo, popularly known as Zlatan Ibile, has announced plans to return to his alma mater, Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY), for a free homecoming concert and the unveiling of a new music studio.

The event, tagged “Homecoming,” is scheduled to hold on July 1, 2026, at the MAPOLY Sports Centre in Ogun State.

According to the award-winning artiste, the concert will be free for students and will serve as his first major campus performance of the year.

Sharing the announcement on his Instagram page, Zlatan reflected on his journey, describing MAPOLY as the institution that laid the foundation for his music career before he rose to national fame.

He said the event is not only about entertaining students but also about celebrating the community that nurtured his dreams.

MAPOLY JULY 1st!!! MAPOLY made me before the world knew my name. Same ground, same dream, same hunger that carried me everywhere. Now I’m coming back home. Not just to perform for you, but to celebrate with you.

A free show for my people. The place where it all started. Symbol Of Hope HOMECOMING. MAPOLY Sport Center, Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Ogun State,” he wrote.

Beyond the concert, Zlatan is also expected to unveil a newly established music studio on campus, a move aimed at supporting and inspiring the next generation of creative talents.

The rapper studied at MAPOLY in the early 2010s before pursuing music full-time. During his time at the institution, he gained popularity by performing at campus events, freestyling with fellow students, and developing the energetic street-inspired style that later propelled him to stardom.

His return is expected to rekindle memories of his humble beginnings while motivating students to pursue their ambitions.
