The Chairman of the Kwara State Traditional Council and Emir of Ilorin, Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, has expressed confidence that the performance of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq will pave the way for the victory of the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Yakubu Danladi-Salihu, in the 2027 election.

The Emir made the remarks on Monday at his Oja Oba Palace in Ilorin while receiving Danladi-Salihu and other APC candidates, where he offered royal blessings ahead of the polls.

Sulu-Gambari commended Governor AbdulRazaq for what he described as his transformative programmes, saying the governor had delivered visible development across the state.

He noted that anyone who acknowledges good governance is only stating the obvious, adding that the governor deserved commendation for his achievements.

The monarch prayed for Governor AbdulRazaq, Danladi-Salihu and other APC candidates, asking God to grant them electoral success and protect them from disappointment.

Speaking after the visit, Danladi-Salihu described democracy as an aggregation of interests and said efforts were ongoing to reconcile aggrieved party members ahead of the election.

He said the APC reconciliation committee would address internal grievances and ensure unity within the party, stressing that peace remained essential for continued development in Kwara State.

Danladi-Salihu also reaffirmed his support for Governor AbdulRazaq and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, expressing optimism that the APC would retain control of the state in 2027.

He said the turnout of party supporters during the visit reflected growing public support for the APC administration, adding that the party was confident of repeating its electoral success in the next governorship election.

Also speaking, Kwara APC Chairman, Sunday Fagbemi, told the Emir that the party’s candidates emerged through transparent primary elections conducted by the party’s national leadership in line with established guidelines.

Fagbemi presented the candidates to the Emir and sought his blessings and support for their success in the 2027 general election.
