Rear Admiral Alison Amaechina Madueke, the husband of Mrs Diezani Alison-Madueke, embattled former minister of petroleum in Nigeria, has been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
According to Sahara Reporters, sources within the anti-graft agency revealed that Mr. Alison Madueke, was arrested in Abuja today for illegally laundering more than $600,000 through his personal accounts.
“Mr. Madueke was arrested this morning [in Abuja]and released on administrative bail,” the source disclosed, adding that Mr. Madueke’s passport was seized as he was placed under caution.
As at the time of filing this report, it was unclear if the recent arrest is in connection with his wife’s travails as she is also under watch in the UK over money laundering offences.
