Asake was seen struggling to get close to the sacred Black Stone during his Umrah pilgrimage in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, in a moment that has since gone viral on social media.

In a widely circulated video, the Afrobeats star—whose real name is Ahmed Ololade—appears to be lifted by people around him as he tries to reach the revered Black Stone of the Kaaba embedded in the Kaaba.

The attempt came amid a massive crowd of pilgrims gathered inside the Masjid al-Haram, making it extremely difficult for the singer to move closer to the sacred relic, which holds deep spiritual significance in Islam and is believed to have descended from Paradise.

Asake was surrounded by thousands of worshippers performing prayers and religious rites around the Kaaba as part of the Umrah pilgrimage.

The singer is currently in Mecca for spiritual reflection and prayers during the holy month of Ramadan.

Earlier, he shared another clip on social media showing himself praying at Raudhatul Jannah, a highly revered prayer area located inside Masjid an-Nabawi in Medina.
