Adeleke Commissions Lameco Flyover, Hails Local Contractors for World-Class Delivery

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, on Wednesday commissioned the Lameco Flyover Bridge in Osogbo, describing his administration’s local content policy as a major driver of world-class infrastructure development and the empowerment of indigenous contractors.

Speaking during the inauguration, Adeleke said the flyover marked the beginning of the commissioning of several completed mega projects across the state.

According to the governor, the projects are part of his administration’s commitment to rebuilding Osun through investments in roads, bridges, healthcare, education and water infrastructure.

He said all projects were executed in line with due process and transparency without placing unnecessary financial burdens on future generations.

Adeleke noted that the quality of the Lameco Flyover demonstrates the capability of local engineers to deliver projects that meet international standards.

He disclosed that his administration has completed more than 27 kilometres of intra-city roads in Osogbo and over 300 kilometres of roads across the state, adding that more than 10 mega projects have been completed and are ready for commissioning.

The governor said the projects were evenly distributed across major towns in line with his administration’s commitment to equity and fairness in infrastructure development.

He urged residents to protect the newly commissioned bridge and called on the Ministry of Works to ensure proper maintenance of the facility. Adeleke also warned against street trading on the bridge and the vandalisation of its railings and street lights.
