The Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Abimbola Owoade, has lauded the Nigerian Armed Forces and other security agencies for their sustained efforts in combating terrorism and insurgency, as well as their successful rescue of the abducted school pupils from Orire, Oyo State.

According to a statement issued on Monday by the Alaafin’s Director of Media and Publicity, Bode Durojaiye, the monarch gave the commendation during a sympathy visit to the rescued pupils at the Odogbo Military Cantonment in Ojoo, Ibadan, where they are currently receiving medical care.

Oba Owoade said the military had continued to make significant progress in the fight against terrorism through intelligence-driven operations and precision airstrikes that have weakened insurgent logistics and operational networks.

He noted that the recent successes recorded by the military and other security agencies in dismantling terrorist cells reflect the effectiveness of their innovative and intelligence-led strategies in neutralising security threats across the country.

The Alaafin also donated cash gifts to the rescued pupils to support their recovery and expressed appreciation to traditional rulers who worked tirelessly for their release from the kidnappers’ captivity.

He commended the collective efforts of the monarchs, security agencies and other stakeholders whose commitment contributed to the safe return of the victims.
