APC Postpones Oyo Mega Stakeholders’ Meeting, Targets Wider Consultations Ahead of 2027

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State has announced the postponement of its proposed mega open-air stakeholders’ meeting earlier scheduled for Tuesday, citing the need for wider consultations and more effective planning.
In a statement issued on Friday in Ibadan, the party’s Publicity Secretary, Olawale Sadare, said a new date for the meeting would be announced in due course.
Sadare explained that the meeting, being organised by the state APC leadership in collaboration with the Oyo State Renewed Hope Ambassadors, was intended to build on the momentum of the intra-party rallies recently held across the state’s 14 federal constituencies.
According to him, the recent engagements demonstrated the party’s capacity to address internal challenges that had hampered its progress since 2019, leading to renewed reconciliation, peace and unity among members and leaders.
“We have shown that our great party possesses a potent mechanism to resolve internal crises. This time, we want to raise the bar by involving more stakeholders from within and outside the state, united by a common cause,” Sadare said.
He added that many Nigerians are eager for President Bola Tinubu to secure a second term in office to consolidate the gains of his Renewed Hope Agenda, stressing the need for early and coordinated preparations.
“We want to ensure that all hands are on deck for a hitch-free and productive electioneering as we work towards returning Mr President and reclaiming power in Oyo State in 2027,” he stated.
Sadare also disclosed that the postponed meeting would serve as an avenue to formally welcome prominent politicians and their supporters from other parties into the APC, while urging party members to sustain unity and cooperation.
He assured residents of the state that the party would continue to keep them informed about its level of preparedness ahead of the 2027 general elections.
