The All Progressives Congress (APC) has inaugurated its Media and Publicity Subcommittee ahead of the party’s 2026 National Convention.

The committee was inaugurated on Monday in Abuja by the Co-Chairman of the subcommittee and Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, who urged members to carry out their duties with professionalism.

During the event, Idris noted that the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is implementing bold reforms aimed at repositioning Nigeria for sustainable growth and long-term development.

“As a party, the APC remains committed to advancing the Renewed Hope Agenda of the President, and this forthcoming convention provides another opportunity to demonstrate our unity, discipline and shared commitment to national progress,” he said.

The minister emphasised that the responsibilities assigned to the subcommittee are both strategic and vital, especially in today’s fast-paced information environment where effective communication plays a crucial role in the success of major political events.

According to him, the committee’s role goes beyond publicity and includes ensuring accurate information dissemination, promoting transparency, coordinating media engagement, and projecting the processes and outcomes of the convention to Nigerians and the international community.

Idris outlined several key tasks for the subcommittee, including content creation, media relations, media planning and buying, and liaison with other convention subcommittees on media-related engagements.

Other responsibilities include writing and documentation in both hard and digital formats, media monitoring, performance evaluation, and reporting across print and audio-visual platforms.

The committee will also oversee the administration and coordination of all media activities related to the convention.

The minister encouraged members of the subcommittee to approach the assignment with creativity, professionalism, and a strong sense of responsibility to ensure the success of the party’s 2026 National Convention.
