The inaugural All Africa Art & Chess Championship (AAACC) 2026 will be staged from 1 to 4 October at the Grand Egyptian Museum in Giza, Egypt, organisers have announced.
The four-day continental gathering will bring together visual artists, chess masters, cultural ambassadors, innovators, entrepreneurs and tourists from across Africa and beyond under the theme “Connecting Africa Through Art, Chess, Innovation and Culture.”
Organisers say the event is designed to foster continental integration through creative expression, intellectual competition, cultural exchange and tourism, while highlighting Africa’s artistic heritage and growing creative economy.
The programme will include an international art exhibition, a continental chess championship, cultural performances, business and investment networking sessions, innovation showcases, tourism experiences and awards recognising outstanding achievement.
Leading artists, chess players, galleries, collectors, educational institutions, corporate organisations, government agencies, development partners and tourism stakeholders are expected to participate.
“The All Africa Art & Chess Championship is more than a competition. It is a continental movement aimed at connecting Africa through creativity, strategy, innovation and shared cultural heritage. We are creating opportunities for collaboration, investment, tourism and sustainable development while showcasing the immense talents that exist across the continent,” the organisers stated.
Beyond the competitive and exhibition elements, participants will have access to guided heritage and tourism activities in Egypt, offering a combination of competition, networking and cultural exploration.
Organisers have invited governments, diplomatic missions, corporate organisations, financial institutions, development agencies, educational institutions and private-sector stakeholders to support the championship through sponsorships, strategic partnerships and exhibition opportunities.
Registration is now open for artists, chess players, exhibitors, sponsors, volunteers and delegates. Full details on registration, sponsorship packages, exhibition opportunities, travel arrangements and participation guidelines are available at aaacc.online.
